SGBC, OCBC launches challenge to accelerate sustainability solutions
Winners of the challenge will receive $80,000 funding each.
The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) and OCBC launched the inaugural SGBC-OCBC Built Environment Decarbonisation Challenge during the UN COP28 climate conference.
The challenge aims to expedite the adoption of sustainability solutions by promoting innovative technology solutions to decarbonise the built environment.
Buildings account for 20% of emissions in Singapore and are a central focus of Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
Companies may submit proposals for cost-effective carbon abatement and energy solutions in buildings from 6 December to 16 February 2024.
Winners will have their work piloted at selected OCBC-managed buildings with the possibility of scaling up the solutions in all OCBC buildings or other test areas managed by SGBC.
Winners will also receive funding of up to $80,000 each.
