Singapore, Cambodia ink MOU for cross-border energy cooperation
It is expected to pave the way for greater cross-border electricity trade between the two.
Singapore and Cambodia have signed a memorandum of understanding or MOU on energy cooperation at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW).
Tan See Leng, Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, signed the document on behalf of Singapore. He was joined by Suy Sem, Cambodia’s Minister for Mines and Energy.
The MOU is expected to pave the way for greater collaborations on cross-border electricity trade between the two countries. These include the development and financing of renewable energy in Cambodia; the development of regional power grids and cross-border grid connections for electricity trade between Cambodia and Singapore; and the development of frameworks to measure, report and verify renewable energy.
