SMU and VIETSTAR to boost energy industry execs sustainability capabilities
Participants will gain knowledge from three countries that led the green energy transition.
Singapore Management University (SMU) and the VIETSTAR Training & Consulting JSC have signed an agreement to develop a programme that will enhance sustainable leadership capabilities of energy industry leaders in the ASEAN.
The ASEAN Executive Sustainability Programme for the Energy Sector (AESP) will serve as a platform for participants to explore, analyse, and evaluate strategic decisions related to energy transition, green finance, and green technology.
“This programme will provide energy industry leaders in the region with the knowledge and tools to build sustainable development strategies, and to meet community and investor expectations, while seizing opportunities from the global green economic development trend,” said VSBF Director and Executive Director of Executive Development Eddie Tritton.
He said the programme will allow business leaders to share their experiences on global governance, which is a solution to maintain sustainable green growth.
One of the highlights of AESP is learning and experiencing real-world applications in Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam which pioneered the transition to green energy and sustainable development in ASEAN.
This will be supported by companies, such as SK Group from South Korea, Sembcorp Industries from Singapore, and GE Vernova from the US.

AESP “builds upon the achievements and mission of the Vietnam-Singapore Board Forum (VSBF),” the parties said.
The VSBF was organised following an agreement signed by SMU and VIETSTAR in February 2022. This is a forum for senior leaders to share experiences and initiatives on topics ranging from energy transition and sustainable growth to corporate governance practices.
