Surbana Jurong to house Southeast Asia’s largest EV charging hub
The hub will allow up to 250 drivers to charge their vehicles at a time.
Surbana Jurong will be installing 250 charging points for electric vehicles (EV) in its new global headquarters in the Jurong Innovation District (JID), Surbana Jurong Campus. It is expected to be the largest public EV charging hub in Southeast Asia.
The charging hub will be built in partnership with SP Group (SP), an electricity distribution company.
At the launch of the campus, Surbana Jurong and SP will install a mix of nine fast and slow charging points. Thirty-six (36) other charging points will be installed in the next 18 months following the launch.
Drivers who wish to charge their vehicles in the hub would need to download the SP app which will enable them to locate the nearest available charging point, charge, track the charging progress and make payment.
“In designing our new home, we are committed to playing our part to achieve the Singapore Green Plan. Providing electric vehicle charging points is one step to help drivers shift from internal combustion engines to more sustainable vehicles,” Wong Heang Fine, Group CEO, Surbana Jurong said.
