Below 15% cut proposed for lending rates in Vietnam

The reduction of lending rates will drastically squeeze bank profit margin, says OCBC.

OCBC Treasury Research noted:

SBV Governor Binh proposed that lending rates on existing loans should be cut to below 15%. With banks paying about 14% to depositors in early 2012, the reduction of lending rates will drastically squeeze bank profit margin.
