American Express and Singapore Airlines launch SME credit card
SME owners can earn more rewards faster even as employees earn miles for their own benefit.
American Express and Singapore Airlines (SIA) launched American Express Singapore Airlines Business Credit Card for owners of small to medium enterprises (SME), an announcement revealed.
According to Campbell Wilson, senior vice president sales and marketing at SIA, the card enables SME owners to maximise their HighFlyer privileges by earning more rewards faster, even as employees themselves continue to earn KrisFlyer miles for their own personal benefit.
Using the card, 8.5 HighFlyers points can be earned for every $1 spent on SIA Group flights and 1.8 HighFlyers points per $1 for other eligible spending. SME owners can also earn HighFlyer points for the businesses, whilst employees continue to earn KrisFlyer miles when flying with SIA.
Other benefits include travel insurances and complimentary visits to 1,200 airport lounges.
The American Express Singapore Airlines Business Credit Card joins four existing Singapore Airlines and American Express consumer products.
The product was based on their internal study that found SME owners travel at least once every six weeks for business, whilst 70% of SMEs have employees travelling two or more times per month. Moreover, nine in 10 SMEs surveyed have dealings overseas, with one in three citing lack of access to capital and cash flow as key inhibitors to international expansion.
