MOF encourages local organisations to share Budget 2021 insights
Interested parties can give suggestions from 3 December to 8 January.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has released an invite for Singaporean organisations and individuals to share their insights regarding the upcoming Budget 2021, from 3 December 2020 until 8 January 2021.
The budget would be presented in February 2021.
“Singaporeans can provide their suggestions for the coming budget through several channels over a six-week period, on themes such as the economy, workforce, society and community, a safe and smart nation, as well as environmental sustainability,” said the MOF.
Though the post-COVID-19 global economy would be fundamentally different, the city-state was still in a “good position to identify and respond to new economic opportunities,” added the MOF, noting that investments in economic resilience as well as sustainability as sources of growth and competitive advantage could be made.
The established Emerging Stronger Taskforce has set up Alliances for Action in areas such as sustainability (market-testing concepts and business opportunities in carbon services), safe and innovative visitor experiences (exploring the redesigning of business events and leisure itineraries for a post-COVID world), and smart commerce (looking to enhance online-to-offline partnerships and designing new user experiences in malls).
