UOB unveils Hanoi branch

The move comes after the incorporation of UOB Vietnam as a foreign-owned subsidiary bank.

UOB Vietnam has moved beyond Ho Chi Minh city with its first branch in Hanoi, according to a media statement. The expansion comes a year after the incorporation of UOB Vietnam as a foreign-owned subsidiary bank. 

The branch is located at 1 Thanh Nien Road, Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City.

"It will enable us to connect customers to the opportunities that Vietnam offers and to support Vietnamese companies in seizing opportunities across ASEAN and further afield," Wee Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of UOB said in a statement.

The bank was the first Singapore player to set up a representative offices in Ho Chi Minh in 1993. UOB earlier unveiled a digital-only bank in Thailand as part of its growing focus on ASEAN.
