CIX names new CEO and chair board to lead next phase of growth
Choo and O'Neill will assume roles on 21 October and 1 November, respectively.
Climate Impact X (CIX), a Temasek-backed carbon exchange, has appointed Choo Oi-Yee as its new CEO, effective 21 October.
This follows nearly six months after former chief Mikkel Larsen announced his resignation. He will continue serving on the board as an executive director during the transition.
Interim chief Mark Glossoti, who stepped into the role in July, will return to his position as COO.
Choo, the former CEO of ADDX, brings 25 years of experience in financial markets, with previous leadership roles at Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, and UBS.
Additionally, Claire O'Neill will replace Bill Winters as chair of the board, effective 1 November.
O'Neill, who led the UK's decarbonisation strategies during her tenure as Minister of State for Energy and Clean Growth from 2010, has been a board member of CIX since 2022. She left politics in 2020 to join the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
CIX, supported by DBS, Temasek's GenZero, Mizuho Financial Group, Singapore Exchange, and Standard Chartered, also confirmed that Choo will be appointed to the board as a director when she assumes her new role.
