
DBS is on a hiring frenzy in Singapore

Southeast Asia's largest bank has been on an aggressive hiring spree in past months. DBS total headcount swelled to 21,898 in the third quarter, the bank's financial statement showed.
This represents a 6% increase when compared with just 20,678 staff in the same period last year.
DBS' staff costs ballonned to $667m in the third quarter, a sharp 16% spike from just $573m last year. However, this is marginally smaller when compared to Q2, when staff costs rose to $669m.
For the first nine months of the year, DBS spent $2b on its staff, compared to $1.7b in the same period last year. This translates to roughly $91,697 spent per person.
