
Funds under CPF Investment Scheme post 5.17% growth in Q1
Twelve-month returns stood at 12.66%.
The overall performance of the CPFIS-included funds rose 5.17% in the first quarter, according to Thomson Reuters fund research firm Lipper.
In terms of asset type, the CPFIS-included equity, mixed asset and bond funds posted an increase of 6.51%, 4.08% and 1.40% respectively.
The MSCI World TR USD and the MSCI AC Asia ex-Japan Index increased by 6.06% and 8.59%, while the Citigroup World Government Bond Index (WGBI TR) increased slightly by 0.91% in the same period.
CPFIS-included investment-linked insurance products (ILPs) also registered a 4.87% gain.
For the 12-month period ended on March, the overall performance of CPFIS-included funds showed a positive return of 12.66% on average.
CPFIS-included unit trusts increased by 14.23%, while CPFIS-included ILPs increased by 11.65%.
For the three-year period, CPFIS-included funds recorded a 28.68% growth on average, due to a gain of 32.32% on average from CPFIS-included unit trusts and 26.38% gain on average from CPFIS-included ILPs.
Equity funds were the leading gainers at +36.07%, followed by mixed-asset funds at +21.67% and bond funds at +9.51%.
