Great Eastern to supplement customers' insurance amidst COVID-19
Those that are hospitalised will receive a cash benefit of $200 per day up to 60 days.
Great Eastern has announced that it will be putting aside $1m to support its customers in Singapore who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a press release.
The support package will supplement the insurance coverage of customers’ existing policies.
Starting 14 February until the end of 2020, Great Eastern customers and their immediate family members who have been hospitalised, will receive a cash benefit of $200 per day of hospitalisation up to a maximum of 60 days.
Meanwhile, should an incident of death occur, a $20,000 lump sum will be paid out.
For its travel insurance customers, the company will be offering a full premium refund for those who have purchased policies from 6 February to 30 June 2020, should they decide to cancel their plans.
As part of its support efforts, the company will also be contributing $200,000 to the Courage Fund. The fund is facilitated by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Community Chest as financial aid to COVID-19-affected Singaporeans.
