How much do Singapore accountants earn?
Accountants in executive positions can earn up to $1m annually.
For accountancy graduates from Singapore’s autonomous universities, the average starting salary ranges from $3,560 to $5,017, the Ministry of Education said.
According to the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), 60% of its members are in the top three established career tracks of financial accounting, management accounting, and external audit.
Over 25% of ISCA members are also in top leadership positions including C-suite, Board of Directors, and senior management roles. About 2,000 have successfully secured C-suite positions.
Accountancy graduates can also earn over $0.5m in starting annual salary as a CFO or Partner in a professional services firm. Some CFOs turned CEOs have annual salaries over $1m.
Additionally, some ISCA members have also transitioned into roles such as business owners, entrepreneurs and other positions outside of finance and auditing while maintaining the value of being a chartered accountant.
Meanwhile, the sustainability finance career track records the youngest average members aged 38, reflecting interest amongst younger professionals in the industry.
