
HQ Capital opens Singapore office; names Michael Hu as managing director
The new office will offer differentiated alternative investment solutions to serve its growing investor base in Asia.
HQ Capital has opened a new office in Singapore and appointed Michael Hu as managing director and head of Asia.
In an announcement published on LinkedIn, the company said the office is expected to offer differentiated alternative investment solutions to serve its growing investor base in Asia. It will cater to the increasing demand from private wealth and institutional investors in Asia, whilst facilitating ongoing investment activities across key markets like Australia, Greater China, Japan, Korea, India, and Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, Hu will lead investment and business development activities in Asia, strengthening the firm's senior investment team and joining HQ Capital's global executive committee.

Prior to joining HQ Capital, Hu served as managing director at Ardian and has over 12 years of experience in private equity and 15 years in finance.
“Michael has a great track record in private equity investing, on both a primary and secondary basis, as well as co-investments, and a strong network in the region,” said Marc Brugger, CEO & CFO of HQ Capital,
“The opening of our new Singapore office also deepens our presence in Asia, a growing market with unmet investor demands,” he added.
