ISCA and AGD team up to build talent pool of public sector accountants
They will promote the SCAQ programme as a pathway to the Chartered Accountant title.
The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and the Accountant-General’s Department (AGD) have teamed up to build a talent pool of chartered accountants in the public sector and support the growth of 4,000 finance and audit officers.
The parties will promote the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ) programme as a pathway for students, working adults, and public sector finance officers seeking the Chartered Accountant of Singapore title.
In addition to earning the title, participants can apply for full ISCA membership upon completing the programme.
ISCA and AGD will also curate and promote training programmes for public sector finance and internal audit officers, focusing on emerging skills like sustainability reporting, assurance, and data analytics.
These programmes will offer a wider range of courses under the Finance and Internal Audit Competency Frameworks.
In the next six months, 50 public sector finance officers will be certified in sustainability reporting and assurance, with plans to expand this talent pool to support the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
