MAS bans two individuals for fraud

Both have also been sentenced to prison.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has slapped two individuals with prohibition orders (POs) for fraud and dishonest conduct.

Aw Yong Seng, a former Prudential Singapore representative, and former Bank of Singapore representative Johnny Chew Swee Sun were each handed out five-year bans following their convictions in the State Courts of Singapore.

Aw was convicted of forgery under the Penal Code and sentenced to four months’ imprisonment, whilst Chew was convicted for employing a scheme to defraud and for unauthorised trading and sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment.
