MAS' Ravi Menon appointed as chair of Network for Greening the Financial System
He succeeds Frank Ederson.
Ravi Menon was announced as the newest appointee for Chair of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
The announcement from the Monetary Authority Singapore (MAS) said that Menon will serve a two-year term, following his predecessor, Frank Elderson.
“MAS has been a strong advocate of the NGFS. Strengthening the resilience of the financial sector to environmental risks and promoting green finance to support Asia’s transition to a sustainable economy are high priorities for MAS. We look forward to the opportunity to further support the important work that the NGFS has been doing to advance the goals set under the Paris Agreement,” said Menon.
The NGFS is composed of 105 central bank members and plays a role in enhancing climate and environmental risk management for the financial industry globally. Its latest efforts include the NGFS Glasgow Declaration, published at COP26 and highlights commitments by members in the coming years.
MAS, where Menon also serves as the managing director, is one of the eight founding members of the NGFS.
