More Singaporeans now buy higher premium travel insurance
Guess the most comon travel insurance claims.
AIG Asia Pacific Insurance says more people are buying higher premium travel insurance.
At the recent 3-day NATAS travel fair, AIG saw a double digit increase in demand for travel insurance as compared to a year ago.
AIG’s Head of Travel Insurance, Ignatius Chng said, “The increase in people buying travel insurance indicates that more people are recognising the value and peace of mind that travel insurance provides in the event of misadventure.
“More than half of our customers are purchasing higher premium travel insurance for better medical and travel benefits to destinations such as Europe, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and Australia,” he said.
In AIG’s experience, the most common travel insurance claims relate to lost luggage and medical conditions, with the highest claims relating to emergency medical evacuation when an injured or ill traveler needs to be flown by air ambulance to a medical facility for immediate treatment.
