NETS taps DBS’ Jeremy Soo as new chairman

He will succeed Susan Hwee, who will assume the role of head of group retail at UOB.

Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) has appointed Jeremy Soo, managing director and head of consumer banking at DBS Singapore, as chairman effective 1 September.

Soo will succeed Susan Hwee, who has been chairman since 1 September 2021. Hwee will become head of group retail at UOB starting 1 September.

Soo has over 30 years of experience in consumer banking and finance. He currently oversees DBS, POSB, wealth management networks and distribution, as well as all key consumer-related products and services in DBS.

He is also an advocate for inclusive banking and has partnered with government agencies through DBS and POSB to offer subsidized banking services to low-income groups and migrant workers in Singapore.

The NETS chairmanship rotates amongst the three shareholder banks, DBS, OCBC, and UOB every three years.
