Singapore drops to fourth in global fintech rankings
But the Lion City is still king in the Asia Pacific region
Singapore drops to fourth place, down by one from 2020, in the Global Fintech Rankings by Mambu and findexable.
Israel stole Singapore’s spot in the rankings, surging from ninth place to third.
Despite the drop in last year’s rank, Singapore still reigns supreme in the Asia Pacific region and is the only APAC country in the top five global fintech rank.
“Singapore has retained its place in the top five countries and the top 10 cities, however the seriously impressive fintech innovation coming from many emerging Asian economies means Singapore will have some stiff competition to stay at the top of the pack. These results will serve to further encourage greater innovation in each individual country, and across Asia Pacific more broadly,” Myles Bertrand, managing director for APAC at Mambu said.
