Singapore ranks 27th amongst top countries for retirement security in 2022
The city-state delivered a strong performance in retirement finances.
Singapore landed in 27th place in the Natixis 2022 Global Retirement Index (GRI), which ranks the top countries for retirement security.
Countries are scored based on four thematic indices --- Finances in Retirement, Health, Quality of Life, and Material Wellbeing where Singapore scored 76%, 82%, 51%, and 52%, respectively.
In the Finances in Retirement sub-index, Natixis said Singapore ranked first amongst countries.
Natixis said Singapore was able to retain its ranking in the sub-index because of its strong performance across the seven indicators of the sub-index, namely inflation (1st), tax pressure (3rd), interest rates (5th), old-age dependency (8th) and governance (8th).
Meanwhile, Singapore fell one spot in the health sub-index, due to mediocre scores and ranks in health expenditure per capita and insured health indicators.
