Taxing times: 2.4% of taxpayers unhappy
Here's why they're lifting their eyebrows.
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore conducted the Taxpayer Survey in February to June 2013 with 6,605 respondents.
According to the results, 2.4% of taxpayers are dissatisfied with IRAS' service. Consequently, 97.6% of the respondents are satisfied with the level of service provided by the IRAS, a 2.9% increase from the last survey in 2011.
More than 90% of respondents also found the time and money spent on filing their tax return reasonable.
Some respondents would like the agency to share more of the rationale behind its decisions and rulings. Some would also like them to be more proactive in closing the feedback loop with taxpayers.
