Temasek-backed ABC World Asia closes initial $385m fund

It is focused on social impact companies in China, and South and Southeast Asia.

Private equity fund ABC World Asia has closed its inaugural $385m fund with investors such Temasek Trust, Pavilion Capital, Mapletree Investments, Seatown Holdings and Sembcorp Industries, according to a press release.

The fund was established in May by Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of investment company Temasek, and is focused on investments in China, South and Southeast Asia.

The fund is looking for companies with dedication to generating social and environmental impact along with the ability to deliver compelling risk-adjusted returns. ABC World Asia will focus on themes financial and digital inclusion, health and education, climate and water solutions, sustainable food and agriculture, and smart and liveable cities.
