
AXA Insurance Singapore appoints Chua Kim Soon as Principal Officer and CEO
His key responsibilities will be to maintain AXA's position as the to insurers in Singapore.
According to AXA, he will further build on the brand's strong partners network and focusing on delivering superior customer service, while also introducing innovative products.
“My priority will be to lead AXA Insurance Singapore to meet its goal of being the preferred insurer in Singapore, building on its already strong leadership position in the market,” said Kim Soon.
Kim Soon joined AXA Affin Insurance Bhd in 2003 and was Head of Retail and Distribution & Marketing. In 2007, he was appointed Bharti AXA’s Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw distribution, marketing and underwriting for AXA’s General Insurance operation in India.
To lead AXA developments in General Insurance in Asia’s high growth markets, Gaëlle Olivier has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of AXA Asia General Insurance.
In this role, Gaëlle will be responsible for AXA’s General Insurance operations in Asia – China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, with the objective to further build AXA’s leadership position in Asia.
“Growing AXA presence in Asia is a strategic priority for the AXA Group and as we seek to grow our leadership position in this region in a sustainable manner, winning the customer preference and building solid teams will be critical. I am very excited by the opportunities we have in the region, and believe that we can make great strides here by leveraging AXA’s existing strengths, both in the region and globally, and developing our distribution reach as well as product and service offers,” said Gaëlle of her new position.
Gaëlle joined the AXA Group in 1998 after a first experience in finance in the banking industry. She held several positions at AXA Investment Managers and then at AXA’s head office. In 2004, she joined AXA Japan for 5 years as Head of Investment Operations, before becoming responsible for Winterthur Integration, Strategy and Audit. In 2009, she was appointed AXA Group Head of Group Communications and Corporate Responsibility. Gaëlle is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE and a chartered actuary from the Institut des Actuaries.
