
Manulife Singapore appoints Nirmala Nair as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer
Nirmala Nair is responsible for the Legal and Compliance functions in Manulife Singapore.
In a release, Manulife (Singapore) Pte Ltd. has recently appointed Nirmala Nair as its Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.
Nirmala Nair is responsible for the Legal and Compliance functions in Manulife Singapore and is part of the senior leadership team. Her career spans more than 25 years. As an advocate and solicitor in private legal practice for nine years, Nirmala advised clients and conducted litigation on a wide range of matters, primarily on insurance related issues.
Nirmala left private practice and took on her first corporate counsel role in a leading general insurance company, followed by roles as Head of Legal and Compliance in two established life insurance companies in Singapore. She was responsible for the legal, corporate secretarial and regulatory compliance functions of the life insurance, wealth management and general insurance business of these companies.

Clive Anderson, Manulife Singapore's most recent Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, will continue with his oversight of the legal and compliance functions in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore and has taken on an expanded ASEAN roel with Manulife Financial.
