MAS appoints Tan Yeow Seng as chief cybersecurity officer

The position is a new addition to MAS' senior management.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) made changes to its senior management and added a new position related to cybersecurity.

The Insurance Department's executive director Ho Hern Shin will be appointed as assistant managing director for Banking & Insurance.

She will take the position from Chua Kim Leng, who will be appointed as special advisor for the Financial Supervision Group.

Banking Department I executive director Loo Siew Yee will be appointed as assistant managing director for Policy, Risk & Surveillance.

MAS also appointed Tan Yeow Seng as chief cybersecurity officer (CCSO), a new position. Tan's responsibilities include setting cyber resiliency standards and overseeing their implementation.

He will hold this appointment with his role as executive director of the Technology Risk and Payments Department.

The changes will take place on 1 December 2017.
