He was previously ASEAN and Singapore Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions at Citibank N.A.
OCBC Bank has appointed banking veteran Melvyn Low as head of Global Transaction Banking.
Having been in the industry for more than 25 years, Low accumulated a wealth of experience across the sales and product management, transaction services, cash management, trade and securities and fund services segments.
He spent 18 years in Citibank N.A. where he occupied the seat of Head of ASEAN and Singapore, Treasury and Trade Solutions which covers the bank’s transaction service business in eight countries.
He also served as the director of the Singapore Clearing House Association since 2010 and was a key player in the launch of electronic fund transfer platform FAST (Fast and Secured Transfers) in 2014.
“Almost 30 years ago, I landed my first banking job – an internship at OCBC’s then technology department – so this is a homecoming for me. It is especially meaningful to be returning as a senior leader at a time that can be considered a watershed moment in banking, as the industry becomes increasingly intertwined with technology. I look forward to continuing my work with the management team and my colleagues as we chart new paths forward for the bank,” he said in a statement.
Low holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
