Visa appoints Ooi Huey Tyng as country manager for Singapore, Brunei
Ms. Ooi will take over driving Visa's growth in the two markets.
According to the company release, Visa has announced the appointment of Ooi Huey Tyng as country manager for Singapore and Brunei.
Ms. Ooi will be responsible for driving Visa’s growth in the two markets with a focus on forging strong business partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, technology providers and other key segments of the local economies.
Ms. Ooi takes over the country management role from Meranda Chan who is now head of marketing, Southeast Asia for Visa. Ms. Ooi said: “It’s an exciting time to take on this role and have the opportunity to work across two of the region’s most dynamic markets.
Singapore and Brunei are key economies driving growth in the region and globally. Their strategic positions in the region are opportunities to build upon Visa’s existing leadership in the fast evolving electronic payment space as the industry embraces innovations like contactless, eCommerce and mobile payments.”
Ms. Ooi joins Visa International from DBS Bank, where she served as head of cards and unsecured loans. Ms. Ooi has 20 years of working experience in various industries and prior to joining DBS, she has held senior roles at both UOB and Citibank.
