Haji Lane welcomes a hippy motorcycle cafe
It serves all-day brunches with motorcycle merchandise up for grabs.
Bound together by their common interests of beautiful bikes, great food and brewing that perfect cup of coffee, fellow friends which requested anonymity founded The 7th Cylinder.
The 7th Cylinder, is a motorcycle cafe which officially opened since April 26 of this year. It is located in the Haji Lane providing both the local community and tourists specialty coffee and great meals aside from serving all-day brunches including sandwiches, pasta, and dessert.
The 7th Cylinder’s uniqueness can be traced not only from the cafe’s strong motorcycle theme that runs throughout the cafe including motorcycle-centric designs and display motorbike. At the 7th Cylinder, cafe-goers can also find merchandise available for sale, regular activities, and a strong motorcycle spirit that resonates within the walls.
According to a spokeperson, since the cafe culture and biker groups are both growing all across Singapore, there isn't really a local to house all these biker groups and provide them with a gathering place. “The 7th Cylinder was designed to marry both of these cultures, providing an alcohol-free environment for motorcycle enthusiasts to gather and share their experiences. With the goal of providing help and support to the growing motorcycling community.”
Founded by four different owners of different expertise, each one chipped in to help get the business started. According to the spokesperson, the problems they faced in starting the restaurant were not much different than what most startups will face at the birth of the business.
The 7th Cylinder’s future plans includes improving their menu selection and adding in more items that would appeal to the local crowd. The founders also hope that 7th Cylinder will help to boost the motorcycling community - through getting more motorcyclists to interact with one another and also by introducing non-motorcyclists to the two-wheeled machine. They aim to do this through different activities and events that would be announced regularly on their facebook website.
