Rumah Rasa offers Ramadan buffet with Indonesian flavours
Pan-Indonesian restaurant Rumah Rasa will serve up a spread of close to 30 dishes with Indonesian flavours at a nightly dinner buffet prepared by Chef Sharifah during the Ramadan season.
The spread starts off with items like Percil Sayuran, a gado gado with kangkong and peanut sauce, and Krabu Ulam, a salad of raw vegetables tossed with lightly sautéed shredded coconut. There’s also the Arabic dish of Bami’ah, a mutton stew flavoured by tomatoes, spices, and ladies fingers. The spread also includes Lemak Ayam Cili Padi, a gulai of chicken with fresh chillies and spices instead of the usual curry powder, and Sate Jawa, a selection of chunky skewered meat.
For seafood lovers, there’s the Pepes Ikan Bakar where the restaurant’s catch of the day is lightly sautéed with sambal before baked in banana leaves with fresh chillies, ginger and garlic. Meanwhile the Ikan Cincaru Sumbat is a dish where dry chillies, turmeric, tamarind juice come to a fry in the pan before being stuffed in a slit fish which then goes for a shallow fry.
The Ramadan Dinner Buffet runs daily from 17 July to 18 August 2012 during the Ramadan season lasting from 6:30pm to 10:30pm nightly. The buffet is priced at S$39++ for adults and S$20++ for children below 12.
