Caffe Vergnano brings 1882 Italian espresso to Singapore
It eyes opening 100 shops in 21 countries.
Pietro Vergnano founded the first Caffe Vergnano in 2000 to support authentic Italian espresso. The cafeteria attracted potential investors and so the management realized that there can be more than one branch.
The business started in Nice, Milan, and London. These three stores were opened in just three years to accommodate the growing number of clients.
“Nice was opened in order to develop the Italian espresso culture in a place in which, even if very close to Italy, it did not really exist; Milan was an essential location as it's the best place in Italy to start a new business and London was the real opportunity for internationalisation,” Vergnano explained.
Vergnano also added that they are reaching 100 stores in 21 different countries. By maintaining presence in historical centres and department stores, he is also looking to place one in airports and train stations.
“We've been able to be patient in the last 16 years, and this allowed us to really reach a point in which we are proud of what we have, even if there are still a lot of improvements to be done.
Our main objective is to create an even stronger team to support the project in the best way,” Vergnano said.
Many clients have represented the brand for the past decade to give insights on cultural aspects, best locations, and competitors strategies. This led to various project developments which support and market the natural products. Last September 14, it opened a Singapore coffee shop at The South Beach Singapore to bring Italian taste to the Asian palate.
