Check out what Jumbo Group is doing to cut manpower needs down
One of its outlets employs self-serving system technologies.
Jumbo Group is cashing in the popular Singaporean meat dish bak kut teh as it opened another 1,600 sqft Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh outlet in The Forum at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). Aside from the mouth-watering dish, the new outlet promises its customers less waiting time with the new self-order kiosks.
According to UOB Kay Hian report, the said outlet boasts technological features such as self-ordering systems, which significantly reduces the outlet manpower needs by about 30%.
"The outlet employs only eight personnel and we believe this concept could be rolled out to the other Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh restaurants and other concepts under the Jumbo umbrella such as J Café," the brokerage firm said.
UOB noted that this would go a long way in coping with rising manpower costs.
"Our channel checks indicate that the new RWS outlet has received a positive response, with it seeing long queues and the majority of customers being foreign tourists," the report said.
