Deliveroo sign-ups surged 50% in March
Restaurants turn to delivery to help prevent transmission of COVID-19.
Deliveroo saw a 50% MoM jump in restaurant sign-ups as of 1 March, a press release revealed. The food delivery platform also shared that they had over 600 restaurants join their platform since late-January.
This comes on the back of many brands turning to delivery to sustain their businesses as people became wary if dining out over COVID-19 concerns. Government measures have also been implemented to prevent local transmission of the pandemic, which then caused restaurants to reduce their dine-in capacity and maintain a safe distance between customers.
The app earlier introduced the ‘contact-free delivery’ to restaurants and shared expert advice and guidance on operating safely during the outbreak. MOS Burger and Food Republic have recently joined Deliveroo’s roster, whilst Isaac Toast, Mellben Signature & Seafood, and Kopi & Tarts will soon take part.
