F&B posts lower sales growth in July of 41.9% YoY
In June, sales grew by 59.1%.
Food and beverage (F&B) sales grew at a slower pace in July, jumping 41.9% YoY from a 59.1% YoY increase in June. Sales value clocked in at $939m.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, however, F&B sales marginally grew by 0.1% from June.
Of the total sales value, 26.2% were from online sales.
According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), the higher growth in F&B sales was mainly due to the low base in July 2021, when dine-in restrictions were still in place, but also due to all industries posting a year-on-year increase in sales.
Amongst industries, Food Caterers recorded the largest increase, soaring 133.0% YoY, followed by Restaurants which saw a 76.8% jump in sales.
Sales of Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places and Fast Food Outlets also rose in July by 22.1% and 11.5%, respectively.
