F&B sales growth eases to 0.3% in December
In November, F&B sales grew 1.6% YoY.
Food and beverage (F&B) sales grew slower in December, increasing by 0.3% YoY from a 1.6% YoY uptick in November. Month-on-month, however, sales fell by 1.9%.
Sales value clocked in at $1.0b. Of the total sales value, 23.3% was from online sales.
According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), half of the F&B services industries recorded year-on-year increases in sales in December, with Food Caterers posting a 14.5% YoY growth and Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places recording a 3.8% YoY uptick.
Meanwhile, Restaurants and Fast Food Outlets both recorded a decline in sales, falling 4.8% YoY and 2.9% YoY, respectively.
