F&B sales growth eases to 2.4% in October

In September, F&B sales grew 6.9% YoY.

Food and beverage (F&B) sales grew slower in October, increasing by 2.4% YoY from a 6.9% YoY uptick in September. Month-on-month, however, sales fell by 1.4%.

Sales value clocked in at $979m. Of the total sales value, 23.6% was from online sales.

According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), all F&B services industries recorded year-on-year increases in sales in October, except Restaurants which saw a 4.7% YoY drop.

Amongst industries, Food Caterers recorded the largest increase, soaring 19.9% YoY, followed by Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places, which saw a 6.2% YoY jump in sales.

Sales of Fast Food Outlets also rose in October by 1.1% YoY.
