F&B sales growth slows to 6.9% in September

In August, F&B sales grew 8.6% YoY.

Food and beverage (F&B) sales grew slower in September, increasing by 6.9% YoY from an 8.6% YoY uptick in August. Month-on-month, however, sales fell by 1.7%.

Sales value clocked in at $983m.

Of the total sales value, 23.0% was from online sales.

According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), all F&B services industries recorded year-on-year increases in sales in September. 

Amongst industries, Food Caterers recorded the largest increase, soaring 24.1% YoY, followed by Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places, which saw a 7.2% jump in sales.

Sales of Fast Food Outlets and Restaurants also rose in September, by 5.5% YoY and 3.7% YoY, respectively.
