Food and beverage sales go up 17.8% to $956m in March
Food caterers have sizeable sales growth, with 80.1%
Singapore's food and beverage sales grew 17.8% to $956m year-over-year (YoY) in March.
A report from the country's Department of Statistics stated that all of the services in the industry recorded a growth in sales during the month.
Food caterers registered the largest growth, at 80.1%, thansk to demand for both event and in-flight catering following eased restrictions on crowded events, international travel, and social gatherings.
Singapore's restaurants also have a sizeable growth in sales at16.4%; followed by cafes, food courts, and other eating places (13.2%) and fast-food outlets (11.1%).

Compared to February, sales from restaurants and food caterers increased 5.7% and 2.5%, respectively, on a seasonally adjusted basis.
However, sales from cafes, food courts, and other places dropped to 3.2% from February. Sales of fast food outlets also fell by 2.6%.
