More than a third of F&B sales were done online.
Sales of food and beverage (F&B) services increased by 46.4% to $617 million in May, according to the latest government data.
This was attributed to the low base last year during the Circuit Breaker period, where dining-in at establishments was not allowed.
However, this is still below pre-COVID levels.
Food caterers have yet to recover from the pandemic, with a 52.3% decline in sales in May.
Meanwhile, restaurant sales grew by 89.5%, cafe and other eating places by 54.4% and fastfood outlets by 37.2%.
