Nearly 6 in 10 Singaporeans admit to ignoring food packaging labels
It's just the tip of the iceberg.
Fifty-eight percent of Singaporeans said that they typically “ignored” or did not read the information on packaging.
This was according to a poll commissioned by Greenfields Milk which was carried out to look into Singaporean buying habits for basic produce including dairy and other household items commonly available in supermarkets and grocery shops nationwide.
The poll also revealed that 77% of respondents stated that they were mostly influenced by promotional marketing and advertising materials before purchasing groceries, including dairy products. Meanwhile, 84% of the respondents were unaware of the next steps to take to ensure producers refrained from misleading the consumer
