October F&B receipts rose 3.9% on food catering frenzy

Food caterers saw an 8.6% yoy revenue uptick.

Month-on-Month Change (Seasonally Adjusted). After seasonal adjustment, food caterers recorded a 2.8% decrease in receipts in October 2012 over September 2012 (Table 2). Receipts of restaurants and other eating places (such as cafes and canteens) declined marginally by 1.0% and 0.9% respectively compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, turnover of fast food outlets increased 4.4% over the same period.

Year-on-Year Change. Compared to October 2011, food caterers recorded an 8.6% increase in receipts in October 2012. Turnover of other eating places, fast food outlets and restaurants also rose between 0.4% and 4.9% over the same period.
