SFA lifts Pu Tien Services suspension after ByteDance food poisoning incident

The incident caused 17 hospitalisations.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has lifted the suspension on Pu Tien Services at 2 Senoko South Road, as the licensee has met the SFA's required measures. Operations can now resume.

On 31 July, the Ministry of Health and SFA suspended Pu Tien Services, along with another food caterer, following reports of 169 gastroenteritis cases at ByteDance’s office, which resulted in 17 hospitalizations.

During the suspension, Pu Tien Services disposed of all ready-to-eat, thawed, and perishable food. They also cleaned and sanitized their premises, including equipment, utensils, and food preparation surfaces.

In addition, food handlers re-attended and passed the Food Safety Course Level 1, whilst Food Hygiene Officers re-attended and passed the WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit course.

Following the lifting of the suspension, the SFA will continue to closely monitor Pu Tien Services to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.

The SFA will fine violators of the Environmental Public Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations up to $2,000. For ongoing offenses, a daily fine of up to $100 may be imposed.
