
SGX’s largest F&B stocks spiked 12% in October
They’re making a comeback after crashing in September.
The 10 largest Food, Beverage & Tobacco companies listed on SGX averaged a total return of 11.5% in October 2015, recouping the 26.3% slide suffered in the first nine months of the year.
Of the top ten, the five best performing stocks in October were Japfa, Wilmar International, Golden-Agri Resources, Super Group and Indofood Agri Resources, according to SGX. All five enjoyed strong total returns in October, rebounding from the sharp drop of returns in September.
Japfa’s total return bounced 33.9% from September’s -46.6%, Wilmar International recovered 21.8% from -18.7%, Golden Agri-Resources leapt 18.2% from -27.3%, Super Group recouped 16.9% from -30.8%, and Indofood Agri-Resources inched forward 15.2% from -31.2%.
