Malaysia to focus on healthcare
The government sees increasing demand for healthcare services going forward.
OCBC Treasury Research noted:
The government indicated that they will continue to focus on the healthcare industry, as it sees increasing demand for healthcare services going forward.
In Budget 2013, about MYR 20mn is set aside to build new public clinics and an additional MYR 100mn to upgrade existing ones across the country.
Export growth came in at -4.5% yoy in August, well below our forecast for an uptick to 1.4% yoy (previous month’s growth figure has also been revised lower to -2.6% yoy from -1.9%).
Additionally, the sharp moderation in import growth to 2.8% yoy in August could be a troubling sign too if this were to sustain going forward.
