4 of 5 Singaporean workers support mandatory vaccination
Around the same number believe that bosses should know the vaccination status of their employees.
In a survey released by Indeed, 82% of the workforce agree that vaccination should be made essential in the workplace.
The study also finds that 84% believe that their bosses should have an idea which of their workforce are vaccinated. 90% would also say that they would accept offers, if available, from their workplace.
The survey showed a strong movement towards going past the pandemic, with more than half saying that they had been affected. 28% said they had been greatly affected; 16%, not significantly affected; and 4%, not affected at all.
Meanwhile, 64% of the companies that took part offer incentives for vaccinations, with 40% considering it. Examples of those offered are cash bonuses, additional training, vouchers, and other non-cash gifts.
Indeed APAC’s Florence Yip stated that these results showed the acceptance of the vaccination push in Singapore.
"The data shows how both employers and employees are embracing the public health initiative in Singapore and that encouraging vaccines is in the business's best interests. This makes the workplace safer and eases job roles such as business travel and physical client meetings," Yip said.
