ECON Healthcare opens first nursing home in China
The new nursing home has a 44-bed capacity.
ECON Healthcare Group has opened its first nursing home in China, in line with its overseas expansion plan.
The nursing home with a land area of 3,000 square metres, housed within a 4-storey development, has a 44-bed capacity. It is located at Jiefangbei, Chongqing in China.
“This marks the beginning of our expansion into China. Despite the pandemic situation, our overseas growth plans continue to move ahead and we are very proud to bring the ‘Made-in-Singapore’ brand to overseas,” Ong Chu Poh, Executive Chairman and Group CEO, said.
The ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Chongqing is the first project under ECON’s joint venture with Chongqing Cuangda Balingbang Eldercare Industry. ECON holds a 60% stake in the joint venture.
Their second project, expected to operate next year, will have a 280-bed capacity. It will stand at Changshou, another district in Chongqing.
Chongqing is home to about 7 million seniors over the age of 60. The homes, ECON said, are expected to elevate nursing homes in China.
ECON added it will bring its “SMART” home concept for a more enhanced experience, in terms of convenience, security, and care.
