Haze season is finally over: NEA

Air quality is back to normal.

It might finally be time to pack up those face masks and air purifiers. The National Environment Agency noted that increased rain showers in the past couple of weeks mean that the region’s traditional dry season has ended, which will alleviate the hotspot and haze situation in neighboring Indonesia.

“For the rest of the year, the likelihood of transboundary haze affecting Singapore is low, although there may still be brief periods of slight haze if winds are unfavourable,” NEA said.

NEA added that more rain can be expected in coming weeks with the onset of the Northeast Monsoon in December.

“With the improvement in the haze situation, the National Environment agency (NEA) will discontinue issuing the daily haze advisory after Sunday, 15 November 2015,” NEA noted.
