Singapore’s retail pharmacies to roll out online orders and home delivery services
But will it reduce healthcare costs?
Soon, sick Singaporeans would no longer have to tediously travel to retail pharmacies, as they may soon be allowed to order repeat prescription medicines online and have them delivered directly to their homes.
According to a report by BMI Research, the service will be the first of its kind in the city-state, and is expected to alleviate the pressure on polyclinics.
“[It will] also reduce the overall healthcare costs and improve convenience for patients on continued medication,” the report said.
“Patients who have consulted doctors previously at clinics or hospitals and who have had their initial health examination recorded can avail the service,” the report added.
