Singapore secures third spot in Safe Cities Index 2021
The country joins Copenhagen, Toronto, Sydney and Tokyo in the top-five finish.
Singapore ranked third in the recently released Safe Cities Index 2021 produced by The Economist Intelligence Unit.
Joining the country at the top are Toronto, Sydney, and Tokyo; with Copenhagen taking the top spot.
Five pillars were taken into account during the ranking, with Singapore taking the second place in digital security, health security, and infrastructure security. Personal security and a newly added pillar, environmental security, were taken into account.
The report also acknowledged a trend: APAC cities tending to perform better with health and infrastructure security; European cities focusing on personal security; and North American on digital security.
