Stay Home Notice not yet essential for travelers - Iswaran
The focus will be on enhancing tests and limiting VTL arrivals.
Minister for Transport S. Iswaran confirmed that Stay Home Notices will not yet be re-introduced, following the emergence of the Omicron variant.
Instead, the Minister points to the enhanced testing regime and current limits on the number of Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) arrivals as sufficient for the public.
To recall, the testing regime for travellers arriving via VTLs include daily self-administered antigen rapid tests on days 2 to 7 of their arrival in Singapore. The results are then automatically uploaded to the Ministry of Health’s database, whilst those who test positive undergo a confirmatory Polymerase Chain Reaction test.
Iswaran also reported more than 220,00 VTL-air and land travellers had entered Singapore, with less than 1% being found COVID-19 positive. A 99% compliance rate amongst travellers was also found.
